An exciting vacancy exists at King Shaka International Airport for an experienced
Electrician within the Infrastructure Asset Management division.
Key Performance Outputs
The successful candidate, reporting to the First Electrician, will be responsible for the following:
Ensure implementation of continuous improvement of the equipment/ infrastructure and ensure availability, maintenance and safety of tools
Consult and give support in commissioning and testing of assets
Adhere to relevant statutory and legislative regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), operational standards, policies and practices
Provide input into allocated budget
Input into maintenance planning, scheduling and execution of assets
Execute safe planned and unplanned maintenance activities
Execute routine inspections on infrastructure and participate in root cause analysis
Monitor quality of maintenance work and escalate inefficiencies
Initiate purchase requisitions, provide input into project design and execute project deliverables
Compile and submit relevant reports and provide input into incident reports
Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal as well as external relationships and implement remedial actions where required to ensure achievement of organisational goals
Plan, schedule, supervise and coach subordinate activities within processes or services to achieve efficiency and quality goals.
Technical Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such, will be required:
National Technical Certificate Electrical
Electrical Trade Test essential
A minimum 2 years’ relevant experience within electrical maintenance essential
A minimum 1 to 2 years’ supervisory experience is recommended
Code B drivers licence
Knowledge of airport operations would be advantageous
Basic MS Office computer skills.
