Rand Water has three vacant positions of a Artisan Assistant which must be occupied by the candidates who will successfully meet the requirements. The main objective of these positions to the applicants that will be appointed successfully is to assist the Rand Water Pipelines Construction crews with the installation and repairs of pipelines and for the fitting of valves on pipelines.

Requirements and Duties:


>>Grade 10/Std 8 (NQF level 1 – ABET Level 4)

>>Matric (Std 10/Grade 12) will be an advantage

>>2 years’ experience in the pipeline construction environment



>>Weld preparation of field butts

>>Cleaning of weld runs

>>Dressing of completed welds, parent metal and heat effected zones

>>Removing of internal and external coatings from pipes and specials

>>Civil construction work

>>Maintenance of pipelines under shutdown conditions



>>Verbal communication skills.

>>Problem solving capabilities.

>>Good housekeeping


>>Positive attitude

>>Highly motivated

>>Performance driven
